Published on September 9, 2021, the Council of Governors (CoG) has hinted at the possibility of holding this year's Devolution Conference in October.

The conference was initially postponed twice due to a surge in COVID-19 cases, causing significant losses to traders who had stockpiled supplies in anticipation of business.

Speaking during the Council's weekly address, CoG Chairperson and Embu Governor Martin Wambora expressed confidence that ongoing talks with the Ministry of Health would yield positive results.

Wambora announced plans for a joint press conference with Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe to provide a new date for the conference, giving hope to those affected by the postponements.

Initially, the conference was scheduled to take place in August at the Makueni Boys' High School, with 1,000 fully vaccinated delegates expected to attend.
