On July 3, 2019, Kenya's Morans were crowned Zone 5 champions after a thrilling tournament in Lugogo, Uganda.
The team's star player, Tyler Okari, was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the championship victory.
Kenya's Morans had a 3-1 win ratio, with a decisive 97-79 win over Egypt, which proved to be the turning point in the tournament.
Kenya opened their campaign with a 70-61 rout over hosts Uganda, before thumping Egypt to set the win ratio to 2-0.
However, Egypt leaped back to their winning ways, clipping Uganda 73-64, but the Morans found their form again to flatten Tanzania 112-74.
Zone 5 winners Kenya and second-placed Egypt have been confirmed for the inaugural FIBA AfroCan, which will take place from July 19 in Bamako, Mali.
The Morans will battle entrants including Hosts Mali, Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Senegal, Nigeria, Guinea, and Mozambique.
