On September 9, 2021, Zamara announced the appointment of George Oyuga as the new Head of Umbrella and Retail Solutions, succeeding Antony Kilavi who held the position in an acting capacity.
With over 16 years of experience in the financial services industry, Oyuga will be responsible for building on Zamara's strong Umbrella fund by introducing innovative solutions to attract and retain customers.
According to Zamara Group CEO, Sundeep Raichura, Oyuga brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the retail business, making him well-positioned to drive profitable growth opportunities within the market.
Oyuga has held various leadership positions in organizations such as UAP-Old Mutual, CPF Financial Services, and Enwealth Financial Services Ltd, where he served as the General Manager.
Accepting his new appointment, Oyuga expressed his honor at being granted the opportunity to lead Zamara's Umbrella and Retail solutions, citing the segment's upward growth and potential for offering financial services that meet customers' exact needs.
Oyuga is currently pursuing his MSc Finance and holds various certifications, including a Certified Pension Analyst Manager, Certified Trustee, and Certified Professional Trainer.
Under Oyuga's leadership, Zamara Retirement Fund has seen steady growth, with over 200 employers participating in the fund, over 35,000 individual members, and an AUM of over Sh30bn.
