Millions of social media users worldwide were affected by a global outage of popular apps WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram on Wednesday.
According to DownDetector, the outage began at 9:58 AM EDT, with users reporting issues with sending and receiving messages on WhatsApp, connectivity, uploading and downloading pictures and videos, and logging into social media pages.
Facebook acknowledged the issue, stating, 'We're aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps. We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.'
Users took to Twitter to express their frustration, with some joking that everyone moves to Twitter when Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp are down.
On March 13, 2019, a similar outage affected Facebook and its products for over 14 hours, leaving users worldwide affected.
