Mombasa County health workers have been on strike since Monday, bringing all hospitals to a standstill due to unpaid salaries for two months.
According to sources, the health workers, led by Kenya Union of Nurses Mombasa Secretary-General Peter Maroko and Kenya Union of Clinical Workers counterpart Franklin Makanga, protested at Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho's office.
The workers have vowed not to return to work until their salaries are paid and their interests addressed.
They have also promised to camp outside Governor Joho's office every day until decisive action is taken.
However, the county health workers have refused to engage in talks with the protesting workers, leaving the situation unresolved.
