On September 6th, 2021, Oppo unveiled its latest smartphone series, the Reno6 5G, in Kenya, marking a significant milestone in the country's tech landscape.
The Reno6 5G series, which includes a standard variant and two Pro models (Reno6 Pro 5G and Reno6 Pro+ 5G), boasts several upgrades over its predecessor, the Reno5.
One of the most notable features of the Reno6 5G is its 5G connectivity, facilitated by the Dimensity 900 chipset from MediaTek. This enables seamless network connectivity and opens up new possibilities for users.
Other notable features include NFC, which allows for easy payments processing, customizing functions like alarm starts and stops, and fast pairing with compatible home music systems.
However, the Reno6 5G also sees the removal of the microSD card slot and the 3.5mm headphone jack, which may be a disappointment for some users.
The device runs on ColorOS 11.3, based on Android 11, and features the super-fast SuperVOOC 2.0 charging system, which quickly juices up the device.
The Reno6 5G series is priced starting at Kshs 60,000 for the standard variant, making it an attractive option for Kenyan consumers.
