On August 12th, DJ Rema 254, a popular youthful disc jockey, last updated his social media profiles, asking fans to catch up with him on Citizen TV's One Love show, which airs every Saturday.

He wrote, 'When you can control what is happening, challenge yourself to control the way you are responding to what is happening where power is. I will be serving you the best of the dancehall music.'

However, it appears that DJ Rema 254 was struggling with hardships, which ultimately led to his death. Sources have revealed that he took his own life.

Announcing the death of the entertainer, benga artiste Eddie Gathenge suggested that the DJ was depressed and ended up killing himself. Gathenge asked God to remember his people before they get to a point of committing suicide.

Celebrities and fans have taken to social media to mourn the DJ, with many expressing shock and sadness at the news.

Former radio presenter Munyeki Sonko wrote, 'This is sad news… stress and depression killing our youth. Rest in peace DJ Rema.'
