On September 2, 2021, a tragic incident unfolded in Kabete when a 34-year-old man, Joseph Macharia, stormed his ex-girlfriend's house and killed her new lover, John Tagei.
According to the police, John Tagei had gone to visit his lover, Loise Kanini, at her house on Thursday at around 7 am. However, their visit was cut short when Macharia, 33, suddenly appeared and attacked Tagei, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.
Loise Kanini, who had left her son at home, returned to find her ex-lover demanding to know why she was hosting another man in her house. In a heated exchange, Kanini told Macharia that she had moved on with her life and the man inside her house had taken her heart captive.
Enraged by Kanini's response, Macharia stormed her house and attacked Tagei, who was rushed to Wangige Level IV hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, his condition worsened, and he was transferred to PCEA Thogoto Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The police have launched a manhunt for Macharia, who remains on the run.
