On September 4, 2021, a disturbing incident of police brutality shook the community in Mombasa. A woman was allegedly defiled by a police officer in a bush, leaving her with severe wounds.
According to reports, the officer, who was armed, had lured the woman into his car under the guise of giving her a lift. However, he took her to a secluded area in the bush, where he committed the heinous act.
The suspect, who was later arrested by his colleagues, allegedly warned the woman not to report the incident to anyone, threatening to kill her if she did.
Fortunately, the woman managed to escape and grabbed the steering wheel, causing the car to lose control and hit a tree. The police officers who responded to the scene arrested the suspect.
"The man will be charged with defilement, which is a serious offense, and also with having an indecent act with an adult," said the Mombasa police commander.
