Raila Odinga Meets Western Region Governors Ahead of 2022 Elections

Published on September 4, 2021, Raila Odinga, the ODM party leader, hosted a consultative meeting with all Western region governors at his Karen home.

The meeting aimed to popularise his presidential agenda ahead of the 2022 elections, a move that comes hours after he accepted new members into the ODM party.

Attending the meeting were Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati, Busia governor Sospeter Ojaamong, Vihiga governor Ottichilo, and Kisii governor James Ongwae.

Others present included Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and Siaya Senator James Orengo.

The leaders debated numerous issues of unity in the region under Raila Odinga's new Azimio La Wote strategy, which aims to unite the country ahead of the 2022 polls to solve major problems affecting the nation.

The meeting also examined political and economic matters in the region.
