Published on September 3, 2021, Kate Actress, born Catherine Kamau, has been a household name in the Kenyan showbiz industry.

Her rise to fame began with her role as Selina in the popular drama series Mother-in-law, where she started as a dancer before being given an acting role.

In an interview with Terryanne Chebet, Kate revealed that she left Mother-in-law after seven to eight years to pursue her personal projects, citing a need for change and growth.

However, Kate's transition to independent projects was not as smooth as she had anticipated. She faced a two-year period of unemployment, during which she was told she was too expensive for many shows.

Fortunately, Kate had secured an ambassadorship with a brand, Hapic, which sustained her financially during this challenging time.

Undeterred, Kate decided to create her own content, which ultimately proved to be a successful venture. She reflected on the experience, saying, "I decided that now that people don’t want to hire me, I will create my own show. And it was very successful. It was sweat, blood, and tears. We were hawking that show from media house to another, no one saw the dream."

By taking control of her career and creating her own content, Kate Actress has demonstrated her resilience and entrepreneurial spirit, inspiring others in the industry.
