Onesmus Gambo, a former MCA in Kilifi County, has been charged with the murder of a man, his son, and a land agent. The alleged murders took place on July 7 in Kilifi County.

According to an affidavit by investigating officer Isemek Dennis, Gambo held two meetings with the victims, one in his house and another at a hotel in Mtwapa, to discuss the purchase of land. The victims, Sidik Anwarali Sumra, his son Rahil Zulfikar Mamdani, and land agent James Kazungu, were allegedly killed by Gambo and his co-accused Mzungu Mwangemi.

State prosecutor Edgar Mulamula informed Justice John Onyiego that Mwangemi is facing another murder charge at the High Court in Mombasa and is out on a Sh500,000 bond. Mwangemi is accused of killing another man in Junju over land in 2014 but was released in 2016 on bond.

The prosecution has lined up 16 witnesses, including some of the 13 people who were initially arrested in connection with the murder but were later released after the police failed to link them to the crimes.
