Published on September 3, 2021, Kenyan activist Boniface Mwangi has come to the defense of artist Juliani (Julius Owino) after he received death threats over his relationship with Lillian Ng'ang'a, the ex-wife of Governor Alfred Mutua.
According to reports, the threats prompted Juliani to record a statement at the Kilimani Police Station, with Boniface Mwangi in attendance.
Standing by Juliani ¶
Boniface Mwangi and Juliani have been friends for a while, and the activist has been vocal about supporting his friend amidst the backlash.
In a video shared on social media, Boniface Mwangi stated, 'If you threaten Juliani for posting pictures, we shall post videos.'
He also emphasized the importance of respecting personal choices, saying, 'Love is a personal choice… We must respect personal choices. Do what you want with your life.'
In another post, Boniface Mwangi reiterated that relationships are mutual and that individuals have the right to move on when a relationship ends.
He stated, 'Love can be for a lifetime, a longtime or just a short time. When your relationship ends, the people involved have every right to move on, and date, love, marry or simply be with anyone they want.'
The big question remains, will Lillian Ng'ang'a's new relationship last or end like her previous one with Alfred Mutua?
