On September 3, 2021, a court in Nakuru ruled against Collins Toroitich Kibet Moi, the grandson of former President Daniel Moi, in a child support case.
Collins Kibet Moi, who had initially denied being the father of the two children, was forced to agree to support his 11-year-old and 9-year-old children with their mother, Ms Gladys Jeruto Tagi, after a DNA test confirmed his paternity.
According to court documents, Collins Kibet Moi admitted to being ready to pay child support for the minors, but claimed he could not afford the Sh1 million per month demanded by Ms Tagi.
Through his lawyer, Collins Kibet Moi requested time to make formal proposals on how he would support the children, and the court granted his request, allowing him to make a formal application before the matter is mentioned on September 8, 2021.
