Published on September 2, 2021, a gospel rapper Juliani found himself in a precarious situation after receiving death threats for posting pictures with Lilian Ng'ang'a on social media.
According to activist Boniface Mwangi, Juliani received threatening messages and calls from an unknown person, warning him to stop sharing images with Lillian on social media.
Juliani took the threats seriously and recorded a statement at the Kileleshwa Police Station.
"My very good friend @JulianiKenya was threatened yesterday. Someone called him and texted using (phone number). He told him to stop posting pics posed with his friend @LillyanneNganga, and if he continues, they will kill him. He has recorded a statement at Kileleshwa Police Station," wrote Boniface Mwangi on Twitter.
Juliani responded to the threats with a tweet of his own, saying, "How now can you "iba mtu"?! An intelligent adult with a sound mind. The call/text threat on my life today, NOT funny! "ulinyang'anyana" narrative is false, tired, juicy headlines tu. Kindly STOP! For the threats, usi aim face, na prefer niki smile kwa open casket. Baraka,"
