Deputy President William Ruto has been at the center of a recent controversy surrounding his wealth, with Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i releasing a list of properties allegedly owned by the DP.

However, in a surprising revelation, DP Ruto disclosed that his chicken farm generates Sh. 1.5 million daily, contradicting the notion that he is a wealthy individual.

Speaking in a parliamentary committee session on Wednesday, DP Ruto stated, 'They should have said that there are 200,000 chickens and I sell 150,000 eggs a day earning me Sh. 1.5 million.'

DP Ruto also clarified that while some of the properties listed by Matiang'i belong to him, there are others that he does not own, which the minister had alleged he owned.

It is worth noting that Matiang'i had earlier alleged that DP Ruto is the second most protected individual in Kenya, with a cumulative total of 257 officers guarding him.

DP Ruto also expressed his dissatisfaction with the lifestyle audits conducted by the Office of the President, stating, 'Lifestyle audit had been done on me by newspapers saying that Ruto has this kind of wealth but now, those at the Office of President have decided to improve what had been done before by local dailies.'
