Kenyan Men Abroad: A Cautionary Tale ¶

Men living in the United States, typically in their 30s or 40s, who have not married often turn to online dating as a means to find a partner. However, many of these men are taken advantage of by women in Kenya who are not genuinely interested in marriage.
These women, often young and hot-blooded, may have multiple boyfriends and are not willing to wait for their partner to return from abroad. They may even use the money sent by their partner to fund their own lavish lifestyle, including sleeping with other men.
It is not uncommon for these women to have no intention of marrying their partner, but rather use them for financial gain. This can be heartless and exploitative, leaving the men feeling used and disappointed.
My advice to men living abroad is to be cautious and not invest too much in a woman they are yet to marry. They should not assume that she will be faithful simply because they send her money. Instead, they should move quickly to marry and ensure that their partner joins them abroad or visits regularly.
It is better to marry a woman abroad than to risk being taken advantage of by a local woman who has no intention of committing to a relationship. Nairobi can be a wicked city, and men living abroad should be aware of the potential pitfalls of online dating.
Ultimately, men living abroad should be cautious and not fall prey to the charms of women who are not genuinely interested in marriage.
