On August 18, Faith Murunga's harrowing story of mistreatment as a migrant worker in Saudi Arabia shocked the nation. Her employer confiscated her passport, beat her up, and poured hot water on her arm, leaving her with a burn.

However, Faith has now turned her life around with the help of Kenchic Limited, which has offered to support her in her reintegration journey by helping her set up her own Kenchic Kuku Shop.

Kenchic will cover the cost of branding the Kuku Shop, pay one month's rent and deposit, supply the shop with a weighing scale and one month's stock worth Kes. 25,000, and provide basic training in financial management, bookkeeping, and business sustainability.

Appearing on Citizen TV's JKL, Faith revealed how she seized a chance to escape and ran to a Red Cross office. Since returning to Kenya, she has sought out well-wishers to help her revive her Kenchic business.

"I am grateful to Kenchic for taking an interest in my story and for their generous support in helping me set up my Kuku shop, which has been a dream of mine since my time working in Saudi Arabia," said Faith.

"At Kenchic, we are committed to corporate social responsibility and contributing value through the initiatives we support. We were moved by Faith's story and her determination to revive her Kenchic business and we're honoured to be able to support her in her journey as a Kenchic Kuku shop entrepreneur," remarked Romeo Jamoza, head of CSR at Kenchic.
