Published on September 2, 2021, a shooting incident along Moi Avenue in Nairobi's Central Business District left a security guard dead and a passerby injured. Actor Ainea Ojiambo, who was involved in the incident, has now spoken out about the events that transpired.

According to Ojiambo, he was attacked by two young men who were attempting to steal his jewelry worth Ksh400,000. The actor, who wears jewelry worth over Ksh1 million, claimed that he had to defend himself by firing two bullets.

"The thugs thought I was a soft guy and they were attacking me. Naturally, I had to protect myself. If I wouldn’t have protected myself, they would have taken my gun away, shot me and we would be having one bad gun in the hands of bad people," Ojiambo narrated.

He also disclosed that one of his rings was worth Ksh150,000 and the other Ksh170,000, while a bracelet was worth Ksh80,000. Ojiambo emphasized that gold is a valuable commodity that can be easily converted into cash.

A CCTV footage of the incident showed Ojiambo chatting with a lady outside a retail store before he was attacked by the two young men. One of them started assaulting him while trying to reach for his chains, and the other joined in to offer support and pin him down.

Ojiambo is a Kenyan actor famous for starring in The Constant Gardener, Bullion, and Jack Zollo: My Life in Crime. He is also a private military contractor and top marksman.
