On August 31, 2021, Real Madrid announced the signing of French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga from Stade Rennes on a six-year contract, which will keep him at the club until June 30, 2027.

The 18-year-old France international was acquired for approximately 30 million euros ($35.41 million), according to local media reports.

"Real Madrid C. F. and Stade Rennais F. C. have reached an agreement over the transfer of Eduardo Camavinga, who joins the club on a six-year deal, until 30 June 2027," the LaLiga club stated in a press release.

Camavinga, born in a refugee camp in Angola to Congolese parents, moved to France with his family and joined local club Stade Rennes, where he made his first-team debut in Ligue 1 at the age of 16 years, four months, and 27 days.

He became the youngest player to represent France since 1917 at 17 years, nine months, and 29 days old in 2020.

Due to LaLiga rules, Camavinga has been registered as a member of Real Madrid's B-team, Castilla, allowing the club to register midfielder Dani Ceballos as part of the first team roster.
