Father to PrideInn Hotel CEO Charged with Malicious Damage

On August 31, 2021, Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku heard the case of Mohamed Shabbir Kassim, the father of PrideInn Hotel CEO Hasnain Shabbir Nooran, who has been charged with malicious damage and stealing.

According to the charges, Kassim is accused of wilfully and unlawfully destroying the building where the hotel stands, the property of Imran Abdul Salaam, on diverse dates 1st May and 1st July 2020 at Pride Inn Hotel, Raphta Road in Westlands within Nairobi County.

The accused is also facing a charge of stealing CCTVs, door locks, seven room equipment and fittings valued at Sh 36, 668, 880.

Before Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku, Kassim denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh1 million.
