On June 14, 2019, Norah Jelagat Borus, a highly accomplished student, was tragically found dead at her residence in Stanford University.

The cause of her death remains unknown, leaving behind a mystery that continues to surround her untimely passing.

According to her father, Dr. Peter Borus, the university and relevant US authorities are actively conducting investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.

Dr. Borus expressed his family's gratitude for the support and understanding of the public, stating,

"We are distraught as a family and with heavy hearts, we ask for your prayers and seek your understanding and indulgence to allow us mourn privately. We are so far working well with Stanford University and relevant authorities to conclude the matter."

On the weekend following her passing, Norah Jelagat was laid to rest at her father's home in Elgeyo Marakwet, surrounded by loved ones and friends.

Senator Kipchumba Murkomen paid tribute to Norah Jelagat, sharing photos from the somber event and expressing his condolences, tweeting,

"We laid to rest our sister and friend Norah Jelagat Borus. Fare thee Well Jela!"
