Kenya's basketball team, the Morans, will face South Sudan in a crucial match to qualify for the quarterfinals of the ongoing Fiba Afrobasket Championships in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Morans made it to the last 12 teams after defeating Mali 72-66, securing their first win in the tournament and finishing third in Group C with four points.

East African nations Rwanda, Kenya, South Sudan, and Uganda have all qualified for the quarterfinals, setting up an exciting matchup between the Morans and South Sudan.

"I honestly think whether it is Uganda or South Sudan, whoever we will be meeting, we are a team that can beat anybody in this tournament. We are so well prepared and the players are locked in. It is all about execution, and you have seen that in the three games that we have competed in," said Morans' head coach Liz Mills.

South Sudan, who started the tournament with a 20-0 walk over points against Cameroon, will be looking to cause an upset against the Morans.

Team Kenya's captain Griffin Ligare emphasized the importance of execution in the game, saying, "We know our opponents well and we are ready for them. They have been our rivals but when we get to the floor we will be focused on the game."
