Published on August 30, 2021, Jalang'o, a renowned comedian and media personality, has been at the center of a controversy surrounding his wealth and alleged involvement in money laundering activities.
According to Instagram blogger Edgar Obare, Jalang'o's friends are involved in money laundering, which has raised questions about the source of the comedian's wealth.
Obare and Jalang'o have a history of disagreements, with the blogger previously accusing Jalang'o of being part of a group that exchanged women for sex.
Responding to the allegations, Jalang'o explained that he owns a media and advertising firm called Arena Media, which employs a team of 20 people.
'It's a below-the-line and above-the-line marketing firm where we sit down with a team of almost 20 people, employed, pensionable, and taxable,' Jalang'o said.
He also revealed that he is a brand ambassador for several top brands, including finance, apparel, fast-moving consumer goods, and construction companies.
'As you speak today, I think I'm a brand ambassador to almost five top brands...a brand ambassador, not an influencer...for influencing, I have a thousand and one... I'll tell you easily there's a time I drive in this town and I see a billboard literally every single place, those things pay,' Jalang'o said.
He added that he earns a significant income from his TV show, Jalang'o TV, which racks up to almost 10 million views every month, and from various events and club appearances.
