Tea Auction Prices Reach New Heights

On August 23rd and 24th, 2021, the Mombasa Tea Auction offered 8.4 million kilograms of tea for sale, a decrease from 8.9 million kilograms offered during the same period last year and 8.8 million kilograms in the previous sale.

Of the tea offered, 6.47 million kilograms were sold, a decrease from 7.4 million kilograms sold during the same period last year and 6.5 million kilograms sold in the previous sale.

Despite the decrease in sales volume, the tea auction recorded a slight increase in prices, with a kilogram selling at an average price of $2.04, up from $1.96 during the previous sale held on August 16th and 17th, 2021.
