On August 30, 2021, a scandal involving a group of individuals, including immigration officials, media personalities, and police officers, made headlines in Kenya. The group, allegedly involved in a multi-million shilling wash wash business, was accused of milking huge amounts of cash through unscrupulous means.

Allegations and Accusations

According to 'tea master' Edgar Obare, Jalang'o, a wealthy radio presenter, was among those involved in the scandal. Obare alleged that Jalang'o was part of the crew enriching themselves through the wash wash business.

Jalang'o's Response

However, Jalang'o strongly denied the allegations, speaking on Kiss FM. He explained his sources of income, stating,

"For the first time in my life, I had somebody questioning what I do. If you really follow me and know what I do, even the person writing about me as a fraud knows that they are lying… As we speak today, I think I’m a brand ambassador to almost five top brands… To make it even crazier, per week I do like 3 to 4 events; club appearances and all, which are paying very well…You can accuse me of anything else, but not my integrity and what I do for a living…"

Jalang'o emphasized that he works hard for his money and doesn't deserve to be involved in such a scandal.
