Willy Paul, real name Wilson Abubakar Radido, has been in the music industry for a while, but his methods of self-promotion have raised eyebrows among fans and fellow artists alike.

On August 29, 2021, he shared a video that quickly went viral, in which he expressed his doubts about continuing his music career if his upcoming album didn't yield the desired results.

However, this public stunt has been met with skepticism, given Willy Paul's history of using similar tactics to stay relevant in the industry. Just a week prior, he declared that 'Gengetone was dead,' only to later reveal that it was a marketing ploy for his Gengetone music.

Unlike Willy Paul, some Kenyan musicians have chosen to focus on their talent rather than resorting to attention-seeking schemes. Artists like Avril, Nyashinski, Otile Brown, and Chris Kaiga have built successful careers without resorting to such tactics.

It remains to be seen whether Willy Paul's latest attempt at self-promotion will pay off or if it will be another failed attempt to stay relevant in the music industry.
