On Sunday, August 29, 2021, a dramatic scene unfolded in Kajiado Town when a 29-year-old man, Joshua Kalama, attempted to rob a pub using a toy pistol.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Kalama tried to force his way into the Square Bar in Kajiado Town, but was stopped by a security guard.
As reported by the DCI, the suspect allegedly reached for a weapon on his waist and ordered the guard to move out of his way.
However, when the 'pistol' failed to fire, the guard pinned Kalama to the ground and raised an alarm, attracting other security guards in the area.
Together, the guards brutally beat up the suspect, but police officers stationed at Kajiado intervened and helped Kalama, who is currently undergoing treatment.
When investigations are complete, Kalama will be arraigned for attempted robbery with violence.
