On August 28, 2021, Huawei announced the release of EMUI 12, a new interface for its smartphones and tablets.
According to Huawei, EMUI 12 will provide a completely refurbished interface, with a modern and refined design that incorporates white, black, and blue colors. The interface will also feature animations that resemble divine items moving in the universe.
The new design will be used by the global interface of EMUI 12, as well as on local applications offered on affected Huawei devices. Users will also be able to change the size and thickness of the text to suit their preferences.
One of the key features of EMUI 12 is the control pane, which can be accessed by sliding the finger from the top of the screen down. The control pane will contain tiles for various functions, such as connected devices, connectivity, and music being played.
EMUI 12 also introduces a new system called 'Device+', which will allow users to share their screen on a MateBook PC or accept calls with a MatePad tablet. The system will also enable users to share their phone screen on their TV.
Additionally, Huawei VISION screens can be used as a channel for making video calls, thanks to the MeeTime application. The camera on the TV will film the user, while the screen will show the caller.
However, not all phones, tablets, PCs, and TVs will be compatible with these new features. Huawei has not provided explicit details on the models that will be affected, and users are advised to contact their customer support for more information.
