Kenyan international goalkeeper Patrick Matasi has made a triumphant return to Tusker FC, signing a two-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2023.
Matasi's first stint at Tusker FC was brief, lasting only three months in 2018 before he moved to Ethiopian side St. George. However, he has now rejoined the club, eager to make a lasting impact.
"I am really happy to be back at Tusker and it's a great pleasure for me," Matasi said in an interview with the club's official website. "I was here for only three months then left and for me to come back it means there is something I didn't fulfil as a player. I am here to work and help the team prosper and achieve its targets."
Matasi's return to Tusker FC is a significant boost to the team, which has achieved great success in recent times, including winning the league and qualifying for the CAF Champions League.
"We are really excited to land Matasi and he will add immense competition in our goalkeeping department," said Tusker chairman Dan Aduda. "He has been here before, he knows the fabric of the club and it will not be hard for him to adjust."
Matasi becomes the fourth player to join the Brewers this transfer window, following the arrivals of defender Charles Momanyi from Gor Mahia and the Tanzanian duo of defender Protus Kirenge and striker Ibrahim Joshua.
