Published on August 28, 2021, Tusker FC has welcomed back goalkeeper Patrick Matasi, who has signed a two-year deal with the club.
Matasi, who spent three months at Tusker in 2018, has described his return as a chance to complete 'unfinished business'. He left the club to join St. George in Ethiopia, but has now returned to Kenya after struggling for playing time last season.
'I am really happy to be back at Tusker and it's a great pleasure for me,' Matasi said in an interview with the club's official website. 'I was here for only three months then left and for me to come back it means there is something I didn't fulfil as a player. I am here to work and help the team prosper and achieve its targets.'
Matasi's return to Tusker comes as the club prepares to play in the CAF Champions League. Chairman Dan Aduda welcomed the goalkeeper, saying he will add competition to the goalkeeping department and is familiar with the club's fabric.
CEO Charles Obiny added that Matasi's experience will be vital for the goalkeeping department, particularly as the club prepares to play in the Champions League.
