On August 27, 2021, Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha expressed confidence in the government's 100% transition policy, which has shown impressive progress nationwide.

During a mop-up exercise in Nyalenda slums, Kisumu County, Magoha praised officials from the Education Ministry and Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government for their efforts to achieve 100% success in all 47 counties.

Some counties have already achieved 100% transition, including Bomet, Nyamira, and Mandera. Others, such as Kisii, Nyandarua, and Wajir, have absorbed over 96% of learners into secondary schools.

The government's objective is to ensure all KCPE candidates from 2020 join Form One. President Uhuru Kenyatta initiated the 100% transition policy, which has been transformative, according to Magoha.

However, the Coastal region is lagging behind, with a transition rate between 50-70%. Magoha directed Ministry officials to pursue girls who are expectant in the area and ensure they continue learning.

Three bright but needy students in Kisumu were rescued from their ramshackle homes and enrolled in secondary schools, with the government fully sponsoring them.

Principal Secretary Amb. Simon Nabukwesi led a mop-up exercise in Nakuru County, engaging parents and locals on the importance of education and donating money to assist a student in need.
