On August 27, 2021, Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu confirmed the dissolution of the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition in a decision that followed the withdrawal of its member parties.

The Wiper Democratic Movement, Amani National Congress (ANC), Ford Kenya, and Chama Cha Mashinani had written to Nderitu's office announcing their withdrawal from the coalition, as per the set requirements.

As per Regulation 22 (2) of the Political Parties (Registration) Regulations, 2019, Nderitu will publish a notice of the dissolution in two newspapers.

The dissolution of NASA comes after its member parties, including ODM, Wiper, ANC, and Ford-Kenya, had announced their resolution to leave the coalition on August 3, 2021.

The decision to quit NASA was reportedly due to disagreements over the sharing of funds, with ODM agreeing to share Ksh153 million between its principal members while retaining Ksh334.6 million.

Wiper Party was allocated Ksh70.4 million and ANC Ksh43.8 million, paving the way for the parties to seek other alliances ahead of the 2022 General Election.

Since then, ODM has formed a coalition with Jubilee Party, while ANC, Wiper, Ford-Kenya, and KANU have moved to form the One Kenya Alliance (OKA).

The leaders have been meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta in what has been viewed as a means to consolidate all opposition parties.
