Published on August 27, 2021, Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) has achieved a notable 20.8% growth in half-year earnings, with its profit reaching Ksh.2.9 billion.
The bank's improved profitability is attributed to increasing operating margins, with its total operating income rising by 5.6% to Ksh.13.1 billion.
DTB's net interest income saw a 5.4% increase to Ksh.9.8 billion, while non-interest funded income (NFI) rose by 3.1% to Ksh.3.3 billion.
However, the bank's total operating expenses increased by 3.8% to Ksh.8.3 billion, with loan-loss provisions costs rising by 17.4% to Ksh.2.3 billion.
DTB's gross non-performing loans reached Ksh.22.2 billion, up from Ksh.17.5 billion in June 2020.
The bank's assets now total Ksh.429.6 billion, with customer loans at Ksh.204.3 billion and deposits at Ksh.313.8 billion.
As a result of the profit rise, DTB's earnings per share (EPS) have improved to Ksh.10.48 from Ksh.8.59.
