Published on August 27, 2021, Risper Faith's interview with Jalang'o has left many talking about her unconventional approach to relationships.

According to Risper, she met her husband, Brian, on Instagram, and their relationship began online. However, things took a different turn when Brian promised to visit Risper in Kenya from the US.

Despite the initial excitement, Risper was left waiting for months, unsure if Brian would accept her for who she is. However, when Brian finally arrived, he went straight to Risper's apartment in Thindigua.

As Risper narrates, Brian's first impression of her apartment was not exactly positive. 'He came to my house straight from the airport. I had cooked ugali with chicken, but it was so soupy, so he refused to eat and asked us to order takeout. Cockroaches were just roaming in my house as I had no fridge.'

Despite the less-than-ideal circumstances, Risper and Brian's relationship continued to blossom. In fact, they slept together on their first date, with Risper even going as far as to buy a new pink duvet and wash it clean for the occasion.

As Risper shared with Jalang'o, 'Eeh alilala huko. Nilikuwa nimenunua duvet ya pink nimeosha na sta soft weeeuh, alilala. Sister yangu aliniukiza yaani huyu alitoka US na amekuja kulala Thindigua basi huyu mtu anakupenda sana.'

Translation: 'Yes, he slept over the first night. In fact, I had just bought a pink duvet and washed it clean for us. My sister seeing that he wanted to sleep over; she then assured me that this man must have been really in love with me.'

It's clear that Risper's unconventional approach to relationships has paid off, as she and Brian are now married.
