Sanaipei Tande, a renowned musician, has spoken out against societal pressures that dictate women should get married by a certain age. In a recent interview, she expressed her frustration with the notion that marriage is the ultimate goal in life.

According to Tande, she receives numerous questions about her marital status every day, with some people suggesting that she is old and should get married. However, she is not swayed by these opinions and has made it clear that marriage is not her top priority.

Speaking on the Singletons series by Bikozulu, Tande said: “Marriage is not the ultimate goal in life and I get a lot of such questions every day. Like you are old and you need to get married. It saddens me since I’m left wondering is that the only goal.”

Tande also addressed the societal thinking that a woman's success is measured by her marital status. She stated: “We are still living in that error that if you are not married, then you are not successful. That is very sad. Again marriage is not my ultimate goal but it would be wonderful to be married. To have someone to care for since I hear husbands are your firstborn children. It’s a lot to deal with and a mother of two if they come as twins, I am done.”
