Published on August 26, 2021, a police officer in Igembe Central is being pursued by his colleagues after he fled with a loaded gun, reportedly intending to harm his wife.

Edwin Omuse, a warder at Kangeta Prison, was issued a G3 rifle loaded with 20 rounds of ammunition just hours before the incident.

According to reports, Omuse had received Ksh.900,000 as a loan from a local bank, but his wife allegedly scammed him out of the money.

Senior sergeant Benjamin Ndunda reported the incident, and police officers accompanied by prison warders have been deployed to hunt down Omuse.

Omuse was last seen with the gun at the Kangeta shopping centre around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
