Published on August 25, 2021, Homeboyz midfielder Shami Mwinyi has been crowned the July FKF Premier League player of the month.
Shami Mwinyi, a skillful midfielder, had a remarkable month in July, scoring eight goals in six matches for Homeboyz.
His impressive form began with a brace against Ulinzi Stars, followed by a goal assist for Allan Wanga in Homeboyz' 3-1 win over the Soldiers in Nakuru.
He then scored another brace in the 4-2 win over Mathare United at the same venue.
His goal-scoring streak continued with a single goal in Homeboyz' 2-1 win over Nzoia Sugar FC in Nakuru.
However, he experienced a two-match drought against Wazito and Sofapaka before returning to the score sheet with a treble in the 4-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks.
Shami Mwinyi received the monthly award, which comes with a Ksh. 50,000 token and a personalized trophy courtesy of FKF Premier League.
He beat two other contestants, including Kariobangi Sharks' Erick Kapaito and KCB's David Simiyu, to claim the award.
