Published on July 3, 2019, Ghana's Black Stars secured their first win at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, defeating Guinea-Bissau 2-0 at the Suez Stadium.

Jordan Ayew broke the deadlock just one minute after returning from the half-time break through a superb strike, while Thomas Partey sealed the victory in the 72nd minute.

The win propelled Ghana to the top of Group F with five points after three matches, securing their spot in the next round.

Coach Kwesi Appiah's men had earlier drawn 2-2 against Benin and shared the spoils with defending champions Cameroon in their second group fixture.

With this win, Ghana's chances of progressing to the knock-out stages of the Africa Cup of Nations have been significantly boosted.
