On 25th August 2021, Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper Party, appeared before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for questioning over land grabbing allegations.
He arrived at the DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road at around 10:30 am, accompanied by his lawyers, including senators James Orengo, Mutula Kilonzo Jnr, and Dan Maanzo.
“Just arrived at the Director of Criminal Investigations accompanied by my legal team to honour the summons,” Kalonzo said in a tweet.
Published on 25th August 2021, this is the second time Kalonzo has been summoned by the authorities over the same issue.
He had previously presented himself before the detectives in January to clear his name following accusations by Deputy President William Ruto that he grabbed a 200-acre piece of land from the National Youth Service.
Kalonzo denied the claims, saying they were meant to injure his reputation and challenged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
He also challenged the DP to equally offer himself for investigation concerning a record 10 scandals – the majority of them on land grabbing.
