On August 24, 2021, Raila Odinga took to his social media pages to wish his wife, Mama Ida, a happy 71st birthday. The former Prime Minister, who was currently in Zambia, shared a throwback photo of his wife from her younger days.

The photo, which was a clear 'TBT' (Throwback Thursday) moment, showed Mama Ida wearing a short dress and sporting an eye-catching afro hairstyle. Many social media users couldn't help but agree that she looked stunning and that no man could have resisted her.

Some Kenyans even joked that the photo explained why Raila has never condemned ladies who wear miniskirts. Others praised Mama Ida for her class and style, with some even wishing that she becomes the First Lady someday.

Among those who wished Mama Ida a happy birthday were comedian Churchill, RM Sheriff, Osumo Vincent, Mukhisa Kituyi, Senator Otieno Kajwang, Chiri Kaunga, John Orimbo, Kibet Alfred, Collins Misoi, Joel Omino, and Miaker Mijok.

Raila's message was simple yet heartfelt: 'Cha cha cha NyarOlwande. Happy birthday my dear Ida Odinga.'

Despite their differences in politics, many Kenyans came together to wish Mama Ida a happy birthday and to acknowledge her beauty and strength.
