On August 24, 2021, Rubis Energy Kenya announced plans to expand its scholarship fund, benefiting more students in Kenya.
The Rubis Energy Kenya Scholarship Fund (REKESF) supports financially needy students who have excelled in their Primary School KCPE exams and been accepted into one of four selected National High Schools: Alliance High School, Alliance Girls School, Limuru Girls Secondary School, and Mang'u High School.
Following completion of their secondary education, the scholarship is extended to cover university education for students who achieve exceptional grades.
According to Jean-Christian Bergeron, Rubis Energy Kenya Group Managing Director and CEO for Rubis East Africa, the company prioritizes education as part of its corporate culture and values.
"As a company, we recognize that our existence is part of a larger system of people (employees and community), and other organizations," Bergeron said. "We are dedicated to being a responsible organization that adheres to the highest ethical and professional standards."
Former Alliance High School student Stephen Nyarenchi credits the scholarship for helping him achieve his ambitions, saying, "Rubis Energy came in at a critical point to assist in funding my secondary school education. This has ensured that my ambitions to become great in the future remain intact."
University of Nairobi student Kipkoech Venuns also expressed gratitude, stating, "This has been a life-changing opportunity in ensuring that I can see my dreams come true."
