On July 2, 2019, Harambee Stars' hopes of advancing to the next round of the African Cup of Nations were dashed after Benin held Cameroon to a 0-0 draw in their final group match.
Kenya's exit from the tournament marked the end of their participation in the biennial competition.
Stars striker Michael Olunga has taken to social media to thank Kenyan fans for their unwavering support throughout the tournament.
"Thank you all for the support. We appreciate it. Hope this experience can be vital in the upcoming assignments," Olunga said.
He added, "We will definitely learn from this and strive to make progress. Once again, it was an honour to represent Kenya at the #AFCON2019."
With their exit from the tournament, Harambee Stars will now shift their focus to the African Championship qualifiers scheduled for later this month.
The team has been paired with Tanzania and should they progress to the next round, they will face the winner of the clash between Ethiopia and Djibouti.
