Woman Arrested After Throwing Sons into a Well in Bomet County

On Monday, August 23, 2021, a shocking incident occurred in Chepkogen village, Chemaner, Bomet County, where a 22-year-old woman allegedly threw her two sons into a well.

The woman, whose mental state is currently unknown, reportedly forced the two boys, aged 4 and unknown, into the 40-meter well, believed to be about 40 meters long, leaving them to drown.

Neighbours were alerted by the boys' screams and rushed to rescue them, only to find one already dead. The survivor was quickly rushed to Longisa County Referral Hospital for treatment, where he is still recovering.

The woman was immediately arrested for the heinous act and is currently in custody, awaiting arraignment at a later date.
