Apple's iPhone 13 is just around the corner, and rumors are swirling about its features. According to Mark Gurman's latest report for Bloomberg, Apple has been testing a version of Touch ID integrated into the screen of its iPhones. However, this may not be featured on the upcoming iPhone 13.

As the pandemic has led to increased mask-wearing, many had speculated that Apple would reintroduce Touch ID in its phones. However, the iPhone 12 relies on Face ID, and it appears that its successor is taking a similar approach.

Mark Gurman reports that Apple has begun testing to incorporate Face ID directly under the iPhone screen in his Sunday bulletin. However, the technology would not be ready on time and should rather concern the iPhone 14.

This affirmation joins that of Ming-Chi Kuo, who demonstrated last June that it would be necessary to delay until 2022 to appreciate Touch ID on an iPhone without a notch. The latest rumors suggest that a slightly smaller notch will characterize the scope of the iPhone 13. Another new feature is a refresh rate of 120 Hz for the Pro versions.

Mark Gurman also revealed that Apple has been working on integrating Face ID directly under the screen for quite some time. It is known that this technology is progressing lately, confirmed by the opposition (Samsung with its Galaxy Z Fold 3, for instance).
