On August 22, 2021, Kenya concluded its impressive performance at the World Athletics Under-20 Championships, held at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani, by finishing at the top of the medals table.
The men's 4x400m relay team secured a bronze medal in the final day, bringing Kenya's total medal count to 16.
Kenya's outstanding performance saw the country win eight gold medals, one silver, and seven bronze medals, surpassing its previous record of 11 medals set at the 2018 championships in Tampere, Finland.
Although the 4x400m relay team showed great determination, they were unable to maintain their lead and ultimately finished behind Botswana, which secured the gold medal, and Jamaica, which took home the silver.
