Mombasa Shooters Shine at IDPA Tier 1 Championship

On 29th November 2020, the Bamburi Rifle Club in Mombasa played host to the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) Tier 1 championship, where Senior Safety officer Peter Njoroge showcased his exceptional shooting skills to emerge victorious.

Njoroge, a member of the National Gun Owners Association of Kenya, impressed with a score of 202.32 in the sharpshooters category, leaving Paul Maina and Omar Moosa in second and third place with 210.16 and 210.39 points respectively.

The competition attracted over 40 shooters from both disciplined forces and licensed civilians, with many using the event as part of their preparations for the upcoming Africa Championship at Kirigiti Shooting Range.

In the Master Class, Ibrahim Ndung'u displayed quality skills to easily win the category with an impressive score of 137.87 points, while Eric Wachira came second with 160.07 points.

Other winners included Thomas Kiilu in the Expert division, Satnam Channa in the Marksman class, Peter Odindo in the Novice class, Geoffrey Pesa in the PCC division, Sunny Syan in the Carry Optics division, Martin Chengo in the Senior category, and Peter Muli in the Law Enforcement award.
