On August 19, 2021, Angolan President João Lourenço sent a message to his Kenyan counterpart, Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, as part of a broader effort to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.

The message was delivered in Nairobi by Angolan Foreign Affairs Minister Tete Antonio, who was in Kenya for a 24-hour working visit at the invitation of his Kenyan counterpart, Raychelle Omamo.

During the visit, delegations from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Angola and Kenya met to discuss the state of cooperation between the two countries.

The cooperation between Angola and Kenya is based on three legal instruments signed in 2012, including the General Agreement on Technical Scientific and Cultural Economic Cooperation, the Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations, and the agreement on the creation of the Bilateral Commission.
