On a fateful day, Terryanne Chebet's life was forever changed when her nanny of 10 years passed away suddenly at her home in Kenya. The news anchor, known for her composure, broke down in tears as she recounted the tragic event to Mpasho.
According to Terryanne, her nanny had been suffering from a short illness, but her condition took a turn for the worse while she was alone with the children. By the time Terryanne returned from a jog at Ololua forest, it was too late, and her nanny had passed away.
"When she passed on, she was in the house, with the kids alone. I had gone jogging at Ololua forest. My kids called me in panic, called the landlord. By the time they got to hospital, it was too late," she said, her voice trembling with emotion.
The loss of her nanny had a profound impact on Terryanne and her family. She revealed that her daughter was particularly affected, requiring the help of a counselor to come to terms with the loss. Terryanne also struggled to cope, finding it difficult to work and interact with people.
"I have a friend who is a counselor and she went and stayed with her for 2-3 weeks. I had a lot to do, in and out the morgue because I had to organize everything. We will never understand, but God will give us peace and comfort," Terryanne said, her words a testament to the enduring bond she shared with her nanny.
