Migori Man Arrested for Allegedly Hacking Disabled Son to Death

On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, a Migori County man allegedly hacked his 10-year-old disabled son to death, sparking outrage in the community.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspect picked a machete and attacked the minor, who died instantly.

Locals were furious and threatened to lynch the suspect, but police officers intervened and saved him from the angry mob.

Caleb Otieno, a local resident, witnessed the scene and described the chaos that ensued.

“When I walked out of the house, I went straight to where the noise was coming from only to find him being beaten,” Otieno said.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter and have recorded statements from several witnesses.

Mark Wanjala, the Migori County Police Commander, said that police are still trying to determine the motive behind the suspect's actions.

“Police officers are still investigating the matter and the main reason why he decided to kill his son remains unknown,” Wanjala said.
